About

Elizabeth Raine Interiors

Artfully British

I have always been fascinated by interiors, art and the way the spaces around us can influence how we feel. For me, it has never been just about how a room looks. It is about the colours, textures, light, materials and little details that bring it to life, and how everything works together to create a feeling. I love the character of British interiors, the beauty of historic buildings, the stories behind objects and the influence of art history on the way we see and use colour. I am equally drawn to the unexpected: an unusual combination of patterns, a beautiful piece of art, the texture of an aged surface or the way natural light changes the atmosphere of a room throughout the day. I believe the most interesting interiors engage the senses. They should be beautiful to look at, inviting to touch and, above all, feel right for the people who live or spend time in them.

My Background

My career in design has taken me in several directions, all of which continue to influence my work today. I studied interiors at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, completed a degree in Commercial Interiors at the University of the Arts London, and later studied industrial design in Florence, Italy. I also undertook specialist bathroom design training at KLC School of Design in London.

Professionally, I have designed product ranges for Paris Ceramics, Ann Sacks and Kohler. I also wrote articles in-house for Country Floors USA, exploring interior ideas, materials and decorative design. Alongside interiors, I developed my own jewellery line, which has been featured in The New York Times. My creative work has been exhibited at the Louvre in Paris and Somerset House in London, and I have taught interior design to master's-level standard at the British Academy of Interior Design.

Selected Project Experience

My professional experience has also included working with decorative expert Steve Charles on projects including the Arts Club on Dover Street, London. I have also worked on projects associated with J.P. Molyneux and Caudwell Properties, including Audley Square in London and Parc du Cap in Antibes, France.

My experience across different creative disciplines has given me a lasting interest in the relationship between art, materials, colour, craftsmanship and the spaces in which we live. These influences continue to inform my approach to creating distinctive interiors with character, individuality and a strong sense of place.

Artfully British

I bring together my experience and longstanding love of interiors under my own name, Elizabeth Raine Interiors. Artfully British describes the way I like to approach interior design: with an appreciation of heritage, art and craftsmanship, but also a willingness to experiment with colour, pattern, texture and unexpected combinations.

I am interested in how traditional and contemporary influences can sit together, how materials change with the light, and how thoughtful design can make an ordinary room feel special. I love interiors with character and individuality, rather than spaces that simply follow the latest trends.

From residential interiors to commercial and hospitality projects, I enjoy exploring the possibilities of a space and finding the details that bring it together. I offer consultations online and, by arrangement, in person, and welcome enquiries about projects across the UK and internationally.
